I found Scarlett Black London a few weeks ago, entirely by chance. One of my personal styling clients asked me to pick items for her upcoming cruise. Working past 4am on too many occasions, I switched off and instead of typing net-a-porter into my search engine, I typed my clients first name 'Scarlett' along with Black Dress, one of the items she had requested.

Once I realised my mistake and began to concentrate the tagline below the first entry on the search caught my eye. It read: "The little black dress is considered essential to a complete wardrobe."

With the LBD high on my list of staple basics, I clicked on Scarlett Black London and found a fabulous surprise!

Eliza Woodcock, previously at Jaeger and Aquascutum is also a fellow LCF Graduate. Eliza began her brand, Scarlett Black London, last year on the foundation of creating a collection comprising of little black dresses, which focused on high quality fabrics, wearable and flattering shapes and most importantly affordable price points.
With a successful first year, Eliza has developed the brand to include jackets and accessories, all consistent with the brands core philosophy, designing styles which can be dressed up or down. A styling mantra which I use everyday with my own clients.

The collection is wonderfully minimalistic, featuring contemporary shapes and clean lines. Shift dresses are updated with deep, square, faux-leather pockets, nodding to SS13's graphic trend while skater skirt dresses add a deep v-neckline for extra impact.  My favourite item is the Raven Jacket,  a monochrome cotton jacket with faux leather sleeves. Simple, elegant and timeless!

My only criticism is that the largest size for the brand is a Size 12, however I hope as the brand develops further the sizes will soon increase!
