Atelier Versace kicked off Spring 2014 Couture Week today with their campaign star, Lady Gaga, watching the show wearing a new SS14 Versace number - a draped black silk column dress teamed with an embellished beaded hood. This piece echoed everything which was presented on the catwalk; sleek tailoring, embellished everything, elegant shapes featuring drapes and cut-outs and cowl hoods which added a cool touch to an otherwise classic collection.
Donatella Versace perfected the balance of sheer and opaque with the combination of silk and jersey on dresses to beaded tulle tops paired with full skirted dresses.
One of my favourite features came in the form of glittering geometric panels in contrasting colours to the skirt of the gown.
The collection definitely embodied a mix between 80s style icon Grace Jones and the very current Lady Gaga.
