My SATC Moment with Manolo Blahnik at Harrods!

I am lucky to attend many glitzy parties but tonight I spent a few hours in the company of 'Shoe Maestro' Mr. Manolo Blahnik, at an event organised by the ever-wonderful Harrods and their By Appointment Personal Shopping service.
My very own SATC moment came after a busy day of press events and launches. My fashion assistant, Rachel, and I arrived at The Penthouse met by a sea of Manolo's - AKA stunning works of art in the form of shoes! Archive designs and the current aw12 collection surrounded the glamorous space.
Introduced to the intimate audience by Harrods Chief Merchant, Marigay McKee, Manolo spent time discussing the influences in his life.
As a deeply religious man he spoke of his respect for the Church and of his love for art.

He mentioned more women should want to wear elegant heels, with the perfect heel height of five centimetres, including his dislike for "chunky platforms", an element of a shoe unseen on his designs!
Mr. Manolo Blahnik is a talened man with a sixth sense for knowing what women want and creating it. He has a wonderful sense of humour and incredibly humble. At the end of the evening we were able to ask Manolo our own questions. We talked about his love of London and his favourite pair of shoes the Ossie, a shoe designed for Ossie Clark in 1972.
