Maisha Bags - Exotic Innovation with Timeless Beauty

Maisha, meaning 'life' in Swahili, was inspired by the phrase, "we carry our lives in our bags." Maisha strive to capture the unique exoticness in each of us, in the design and manufacture of their products.
I am drawn to their classic collection of clutch bags, totes, shoulder bags, messenger bags and accessories.
While I am not one to normally like skins, the Maisha collection is alluring. I found the label when I was gifted a beautiful Maisha, grey wallet and card case, the striking design always commands attention wherever it travels and on one occasion a stylist, working in a well loved department store, wanted to trade her purse for my Maisha!

I take confidence knowing that although the collections are made from what we know as 'exotic' skins in the western world, for example Adriatic Snake, Python, Lizard and Stingray, these animals are often used as everyday food in Asia and Maisha obtain the skins from feeding schemes and forestry initiatives. My favourite bag is the Rara, a fringed, rectangular shoulder bag made from python. Striking yet understated the bag features the renowned Maisha design philosophy, a cool balance of a classic shape with a contemporary feel.
