Cheltenham Festival is one if the most exciting and prestigious racing events in the jumping calendar.  The Regency town of Cheltenham also happens to be my birthplace and the atmosphere that surrounds the town during this special racing festival is exhilarating and definitely not to be missed!

My 'Dress to impress' guide for Ladies Day glamour, Wednesday 16th March, is taken from the best of the high street and online emporiums to demonstrate how to mix and match and also how to keep your look elegant.

With the lovely Cotwold weather, always unpredictable, always aim to be safe than sorry when dressing for the races. Stick to dressing for the end of winter instead of the coming of Spring.  Shivering with the cold does not look chic, if the sun decides to shine you can always remove the outer clothing.

However this doesn't mean you need to be bland - simply practical! Buy coats, scarves, and gloves and rather than bare legs opt for nude tights.  My favourite are Aura-5 from Wolford, they provide a translucency plus subtle shimmer, yet will keep some warmth within!
