Last night the best of British Fashion flocked to the Savoy in honour of the British Fashion Awards 2011.  Here is a round up of the winners and the outfits!

Alexa Chung won the only award which was decided via a public vote for the second year running, Alexa dazzled in a Christopher Kane SS12 beaded bodice dress with cropped satin skirt.

My favourite outfit of the evening was Poppy Delevingne in a long gown by Matthew Williamson.  Olivia Palermo, always chic, also wore a Matthew Williamson feathered dress with Nicholas Kirkwood Heels.

Victoria Beckham, crowned Designer Brand of the year, wore a floor length dress from her own AW11 Collection with Christian Louboutin pumps.

In my amazing job I have the opportunity to meet and greet the fellow fashion obsessed, Emily Johnston, American now Londoner, Girl-of-the-moment, fashion news connoisseur and Editor of the renowned Fashion Foie Gras blog, happens to be one of them.

We met nearly a year ago at a press event and I feel privileged to call her a friend. Entirely inspiring and a beautiful person inside and out, Emily has recently embarked upon a design adventure, collaborating with USA's finest, Coach.

Emily's main inspiration, when creating the large canvas and leather tote bag, was to design something with the working blogger and modern woman in mind. The result is a practical and chic bag with a priority on organisation.  My favourite feature is the sectioned compartment at the bottom of the bag designed to store a pair of flat shoes and a digital SLR camera. There are a multitude of pockets large enough to hold everything from your laptop to iPod including a portable iPad case that zips in and out.

On Tuesday evening I attended the official launch party at the stunning new Coach store on New Bond Street.  It was a suitably stylish soiree with a whole host of famous fashion names in attendance, but deservedly the limelight was firmly focused on the Fashion Goose herself!

As a bag addict I find it strange to admit that I do not own ONE backpack.  However this is all to change this Christmas (hint hint) as I have a new found appreciation of backpacks and a whole new love for designer chic backpacks by Ruxx.

Designed by Sarah Ward-Hendry, Ruxx bags are made entirely in England, something the label takes great pride in. They are made from the most stunning luxurious materials and feature the most unique designs. At last we can own a piece of stylish practicality! 

The bag I am indeed lusting after is the Nancy, I really need to own this bag, although then I move on to the Lisa and the Sylvie and now I want all of them.  With a 24 strong collection there is something to suit all our tastes and what is more they are all made to order!

I found Lynda Fletcher's shop on my favourite accessories website, Boticca, by complete chance, when searching for something entirely different. I noted down her name in my notebook and continued to search for my intended objects.  Then out of the blue a week later came an email from the creative jeweller herself! What a small world!

I am drawn to Lynda's innovative use of leather and her skill with colour. After graduating from a MA at Central Saint Martins in 2010 Lynda went on to work for a prominent London jewellery designer which inspired her to start her own collection.

The current collection is inspired by the bright bold colours of African prints and patterns combined with tactile textile techniques. Created in luxurious soft leather and other high quality materials, Lynda says; "the vibrant range is designed to make a statement and ensure the wearer stands out from the crowd".

I love her use of the leather, sometimes hand fringed, sometimes plaited and also the tactile quality she presents. Lynda set out to create something unique and wearable, which is exactly what she has achieved.

As I am sure you all know by now, H&M's latest collaboration is with Donatella's brand, Versace. The new collection was premiered in New York with Prince and Nicki Minaj among the celebrities who were front row. Apart from fundraising throughout the year, the busiest period is from September - November.

It has been a privilege and something that has already taught me lots of lessons, but it is the people I meet while I stand outside collecting who make an experience like this so rewarding.

Remembrance Sunday and 11th November are always important dates in my calender, for as long as I can remember I would watch my Father carry the Royal British Legion standard for our quaint Cotswold town and listen out for my Great-Grandfather's name, who died in the first world war.

Remembrance is a necessity but for me it has been a way of life, I was brought up into not only a forces family, my Father was in the RAF, but in a community with an active Royal British Legion and many friends in the services.

The Royal British Legion spend around £1,4 million a week supporting serving and ex Service people and their families, their work is vital.  So during Remembrance week please wear a poppy, like me, with pride.

At first it was the iconic Bayswater followed by the Alexa, then I fell in love with the Carter and Polly Push Lock. Today I am swooning over the latest Mulberry bag, the Evelina.

Launched today, The Evelina, was named after Evelina Mambetova, who walked in the Mulberry AW10 show, in New York.

The bag features the characteristic Mulberry qualities, a clean design made from sumptuous leathers finished with eye-catching hardware, updated with a luxe metal plate curved over the handles.
